After extensive research on what information is out there I believe this to be the "It's not True" gown from the second collection that Gilbert Adrian produced in his atelier in 1942 after opening it earlier that year

Length: 33" from top of shoulder to short parts of hem

The bodice is fitted and then the skirt sweeps out and there are literally yards of fabric in that skirt - the fullness when you see it in person is fabulous

I love the fabric - it is made of a silver silk brocade that has a secondary gold thread woven into the fabric so depending on how the light catches it you get a shimmer of silver or gold

Shades of turquoise and blues mix with soft pink in curving designs that run the length of the dress
