Spirit Horse and Rainbow Herd turtle This shield will guard theThis was my first mixed media painting I did in this style. I had quit painting for awhile, and when I started back I painted primitive pictograph artwork like the ledger art style of the Plains Indians. I realized that when I created the textures in this painting, crayon and pencil picked it up and made interesting layers. So this style just sort of evolved. The rainbow is traditionally a symbol of new beginnings, and the Spirit Horse our connection
