The grounds sit on Kings Tableland at roughly 867 metres elevation, remote bushland pressing in on all sides. Opened in 1903 as a tuberculosis sanatorium designed by architect George Sydney Jones, the complex operated for 96 years before closing in May 1999. Part of the Queen Victoria Sanitorium series.
