Basement Catwalk Type:Framed The space sits within theA makeshift timber catwalk bridges a pit in the concrete floor of the engine house basement at Elrington Colliery, near Abernethy. Old conveyor rollers are stacked against the rear wall, left in place after the mine closed in December 1962. The engine house sat at the centre of BHP's surface infrastructure, completed between 1925 and 1930. Part of the Elrington Colliery series.
