Freedman - Quartet for Trombones, Bassoons or Cellos Delivery:Mailed Dance of the Blessed SpiritsThe Quartet for Trombones, Bassoons or Cellos by Harry Freedman was composed in 1973. One of the finest Canadian composers, Freedman probably was inspired to write this work while teaching at the Courtenay Youth Music Centre in British Columbia. The work is about 7 minutes in length and explores chordal dissonances, syncopations and colors of four part writing (using different mutes for the trombone version). The opening and closing of the work
