and is renewed at each oil service

it provides a low-friction bearing surface against the pivot shaft and takes up wear so the pedal swings freely without lateral play

Engine coolant is circulated through the matrix while the blower draws cabin air across its fins, transferring heat into the air stream feeding the dashboard vents. It sits within the heater box alongside the air conditioning evaporator.
