The piece is based on a famous painting, "Madonna of the Olive Tree" (Quasi oliva speciosa in campis), painted by Italian artist Nicol Barabino in 1887, is a celebrated 19th century religious work depicting Mary and the Baby Jesus, with the child holding an olive branch. Barabino was a Ligurian painter famous for many historical and religious scenes including
