The painting is signed by G. E. Ducasse in the lower right and inscribed along the lowered edge: "Des Marchand De Fruits." It is an oil on board and was dated 1979. Gervais Emmanuel Ducasse was considered the most genuine of the Haitian primitive painters. He was a charming
