Ambrotype ID’d Confederate Civil War Soldier Mississippi Cavalry 1860s Photo museum I believe it dates toOriginal sixth plate ambrotype of Anderson Cocke Morton (1797 1868) in his Civil War uniform. Looks like he's wearing a double breasted frock coat with painted gold buttons and holding a sword or Bowie knife? Under magnification I think I see a letter or design on at least one of the button use hover zoom on photo #1. His belt buckle and sword guard are painted gold, as well, and his cheeks are tinted pink. Morton enlisted in 1861 at the age of 64
